Q: The wire that I was using to charge my Nexus 6 apparently had a loose enough connection that it allowed it to short between leads, and it got hot enough to melt the plastic in the data wire's connector. The phone no longer charges with any wire. I have tried lightly scraping the contacts on the phone's connector to get it to make electrical contact again. So I can guarantee the port in the phone at minimum needs replacing. I can charge it via the wireless charging, so I know the charging circuit is at least functional. Is the $69.99 just a diagnostic charge, and the repair costs beyond this, or will that cover replacing the charging port, with additional damage repair costing extra? Thank you!
