Q: My water bottle opened up in my backpack and spilled on my Macbook--when I opened my bag and saw this I immediately dried it and took it out, however the machine immediately shut off. After air drying and fanning for a couple of days, I attempted to turn on the machine. The machine turns on and seems to be fully functional (everything seems to be running normally as well), however the battery is not recognized and the machine immediately turns off if not plugged into the AC adaptor. I took it to the apple store and they said they were unable to get the logic board to recognize the battery, so I am unsure if the issue lies with the logic board or the battery itself. Aside from the battery condition indicating: Replace Now, Battery is not charging (and the steady depletion of it), there are a few water marks on the screen, but it seems they have been slowly fading. I am unsure whether I should try to send my MBP in for this water damage repair service, or if it may just have to do with the battery or with the logic board replacement. What service do you think would best suit my needs? This all occurred about 3 months ago, and I have not been using the machine at all since then.

Hi, we recommend that you send the device in for water damage treatment. If any other components have been damaged we will provide you with a free estimate for repair.
