Q: My iPhone 6 dropped in toilet Friday night (10/20), I did the rice-trick for 12 hours after getting on the internet, I took it to Verizon's third-party vendor the next day, 2 days later I was told that after soaking it in a "special" solution, cleaning the board, testing with new screen, battery and doc connector - he can't get it to power on and that the phone is not salvageable. He then referred me to DriveSavers to see how I can retrieve my data instead. Is there something amiss or a trick he didn't do to get it to power on? I received a replacement phone yesterday and reactivated it, I have 15 days to return the damaged phone BUT need to turn off Find My iPhone and wipe my data. My last back up was end of September so I have data from the month lost. Is it worth sending over? I just need to retrieve and wipe my data before sending it back to insurance or they will charge me the full amount of the refurbished phone replacement I received. Will appreciate your advise!
