Q: My Apple 1st. generation watch stopped charging the day I received it. I fell severely ill shortly anfter receiving it and never had the issue addressed. I am considering buying new but this watch is new, if it can be repaired. Please advise me how I go about having the watch diagnosed. Thank you.

Apple Watch Diagnostic Service

Ta Tangerine Bruton - 1 week ago

Sorry to hear you've been unwell. When a first generation Apple Watch stops charging, the cause is usually the battery, the charging sensor area on the back of the watch, or the charger itself. Before you ship it, try a different Apple Watch charger if you can borrow one, and wipe the back of the watch and the charger face with a soft dry cloth. Make sure the watch is centered on the charger. If it still shows nothing after an hour, it's worth having it tested. Here's how the diagnostic works. Buy the free Apple Watch diagnostic on this page and we email a prepaid shipping label. Send the watch in, we test it and report back with a quote, and you approve before any work. If you decline, there is no bench fee, only return shipping. Since this is an older model, look at the quote next to the price of a new watch before deciding. Repairs carry a 90-day warranty.
