Q: I accidentally had my phone in my pants and it went through the washer. The Iphone 5 had a lifeproof case on so it did keep most of the water out but some still got in it. I put the phone in rice but I think it was to late. I did turn the phone on, which I had no idea was the worst thing to do, and it turned on but the next day it does not turn on anymore. Is the phone permanently damaged or can you just change the battery. Thanks so much.

Max, we have had success restoring devices that went through a similar situation. If we can't power it up to the point of being able to retrieve data, all you would be responsible for is the shipping costs.
