I have an iPod Classic, probably 5th or 6th gen. I spilled water on it and now it seems there's a short on the circuit board possibly. It seems it needs a higher power charge to turn on now so plugging into a laptop doesn't seem enough. Anything you can do to help? At the very least, extract the data?

Send it in under the free water damage diagnostic. We clean and test the board and report back with what's realistic, including whether the music can be pulled off it. Water damage and board work can put data at risk, so no promises on that until we've seen it. If you decline the quote, no bench fee, just return shipping.
