Q: Hi. A relative's Galaxy S4 started experiencing a charging port issue several months ago. Because I'm a systems admin with phone/tablet tools, and I'd done a couple repairs before, she asked me to replace the charging port. I looked at a couple online vids, ordered a "OEM" charging port from ebay, and installed it when it arrived. After installing it, I was able to power the phone on and my relative left my house, satisfied. The following day, however she reported that it doesn't turn on any more. I took it back and opened it up, and put the old charging port back, reseated connections, checked things out with a magnifying glass, etc., but still could not get it to power on. This is after leaving it to charge overnight. Also, I ordered a new battery. After installing the new battery, on turning it on I gat a green screen that turned white, and eventually did show the black and white battery (charging?) screen. Any ideas what may be preventing it from starting given what I've mentioned?
