Q: I work for an Educational Service Agency. We have a iPad 3 assigned to a student that we suspect may have been left outside in the rain. The unit was in a case and we have a protective coating over the screen. We cannot detect any physical water damage, but the unit will not accept a charge or power on. Basically it is dead. Is this repairable and it is cost-effective to do so versus purchasing a replacement.

Hi there, we'd recommend sending it in for our water damage repair service. We can't say for certain if it's repairable or not until we see the device. We'll open it up, give it a good cleaning, and test all the components. Often times a good cleaning will do the trick. If it needs any parts beyond the cleaning, we'll contact you with a quote for repair. Hopefully this helps you out in your decision making. We're here to help should you have any more questions. Have a great day!
