Q: I need to clip the cable the connects the battery to the motherboard to troubleshoot...can I still send the laptop in for battery replacement if I do that?

You can send it in for battery replacement. We will perform a full diagnostic. It sounds like you've attempted some repairs yourself, and hopefully, it did not necessitate other repairs, but a diagnostic will let us know.
