I have a broken GoPro 8 with a broken lcd, I have the part to fix it but I doubt my ability to fix it, would you be able to try to repair it? I got it for about $20 so i don’t have much to lose if things don’t work out.

Yes. Send it in under the free GoPro diagnostic and include the LCD, noting it in the order. We can usually install customer-supplied parts, but we can't warranty a part we didn't supply. We'll test it and quote the labor before doing anything; if you decline there's no bench fee, just return shipping.
