Q: I have 2 IPod Classics, I do not know what generation they are. One is 80 GB Black, the other 120 GB Silver. Both have a Big Red X Contact Support on the screen and clicking sounds. Can I ship them to you to take a look at please?

Yes, the red "X" and clicking sounds are usually indicative of a hard drive failure. You can ship them to us, and we'll diagnose the problems for you. Just check out any iPod diagnostic service, you will receive a shipping label. Once we receive your device we will get in touch with you and let you know what we have found. Your approval would be needed to proceed with repairs.
