Q: I got an image of a file folder with an exclamation point. Software update needed? Could not do that as I am afraid to join Apple Music and watch all my playlists disappear! Also, I replaced the battery and now it doesn't work at all. Appears to be dead.

We'd recommend sending it in for diagnostics for testing. It could be a bad hard drive but would need to test it to be certain.
